Join our free sustainability workshops and activities for children and adults and become a sustainable superstar this summer!
As the cost-of-living crisis bites, refreshing your wardrobe and your home does not need to be expensive. Here at Livat, we are hosting a series of free workshops and activities throughout August, designed to help you affordably and sustainably, give your home and wardrobe an Autumn refresh.
WHAT'S ON:
For the adults:
There will be a whole of host of different workshops on offer to adults, allowing them to learn sustainable hints and tips, that they can implement at home.
Visitors will be able to learn how to create their own keepsake crafts, using items such as old baby clothes or fabrics – a wonderful way to re-love sentimental items, to create a uniquely personal gift, or to remember a loved one.
Fast-fashion is going out of fashion fast! Our hands-on workshop will encourage you to connect with your inner fashion designer, with clever tips and ideas on how to reduce spending but increase your clothes’ lifespan.
The new season is a perfect time to make your home feel more organised - with free sessions to explore simple and affordable ways to give your cupboard that Instagram brag moment!
Give your home an instant refresh, with our DIY Macramé plant holder workshop to learn the art of Macramé with a step-by-step guide of how to make your own – all whilst personalising your pad!
For the kids:
Friendship bracelets are a simple but sentimental craft. Children are invited to come down and create friendship bracelets for their friends and family for free, using fabric off-cuts allowing them to take away their masterpieces the very same day!
Starting a new term or new school is always a little scary, so let's get the kids excited about returning to school as they personalise their new school accessories. Children will be given the opportunity to get creative with a recycled material pencil case to decorate and accessorise as much as they please!
Children can make their own sustainable keyrings to either attach to their school bag, pencil case, or simply give to someone else.
Fulfil children's dreams as they make a beautiful dreamcatcher for their bedrooms out of recycled materials.
For all the family:
Over the bank holiday weekend, we are running a sustainable clothes swap in collaboration with Hammersmith & Fulham Council. Families are invited to bring old school and work clothes along to swap with others and receive a more sustainable wardrobe makeover. A professional stylist will be on hand to help guide how to renew and refresh their clothes. We will have a free face painter at the centre to keep the kids entertained - fun for all the family!
Livat Refresh & Re-love presents.... The Green Show! A mini puppet show, for all the family to enjoy. The puppet theatre will be built using old cardboard boxes, whilst a story surrounding sustainability is acted out - showcasing the fun that can be had, with items found around the home.
