The story of Ingka Centres goes back to 1973, when our first integrated shopping centre with IKEA was born in Sundsvall, Sweden. After experiencing low visitation to the 4th IKEA store opened globally in 1966, Ingvar Kamprad decided to invite other retailers as an strategy to increase visitation. And with it the birth of the shopping centre business connected to IKEA in 1973, 50 years ago.
Here´s to 80 more years of collaboration, creativity and inspiration for a glorious future.
