    Livat Hammersmith is excited to announce the launch of two new employment skills initiatives, with the aim of empowering individuals in the community to enhance their professional capabilities and career prospects.

    Due to the success of the Livat Employment Fair which we hosted in May, we are continuing our Employment Skills workshops which is open to anyone looking to take the next step in their career.

    Initiative 1:

    Employment Skills Workshops at Livat - in collaboration with the Shaw Trust
    Monday 29th, Wednesday 31st July & Friday 2nd August 2024
    10am – 11am (seminar/workshops) 12pm - 3pm (drop in clinics)

    Increase your employment skills this summer, with FREE 1-on-1 Skill Enhancement Sessions! Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Livat Hammersmith is thrilled to offer free 1-on-1 skill enhancement sessions to help you learn new skills, boost your confidence and help you succeed.

    Our experienced mentors and trainers from the Shaw Trust will work closely with you, to identify areas for improvement, develop a learning plan and provide hands-on guidance to ensure you’re well equipped.

    Monday 29th July 2024

    Lead workshop | 10am – 11am (no booking required)

    • Parents (to include details on accessible childcare for those looking to get back into work)

    Drop-in clinics | 12pm - 3pm (Walk in's may be available on the day)

    Initiative 2:

    6-week Employment Coaching Programme with coaching expert @aliyahcoaching, delivered in a group setting.
    6-weeks running every Wednesday from 24th July - 28th August 2024
    11am - 130pm

    In collaboration with @aliyahcoaching

    Objective:

    • To help build and develop confidence, self-esteem and employment skills to successfully motivate candidates to find suitable employment that aligns with their values, strengths and personal objectives.

    • Help improve overall mental and emotional wellbeing of individuals.

    • Facilitate personal and professional development.

    Who is it for:

    • Jobseekers

    • Anyone looking for a job, starting their career/job application journey, seeking a career transition.

    • Anyone struggling with self-belief, confidence, motivation/drive.

    • Anyone feeling stuck, confused, lost, scared, anxious, recovering from/going through burnout.

    What will it involve:

    • It will be made up of a small supportive group where the coach (Aliyah) will teach key insights into personal and professional development whilst facilitating individual and group exercises.

    • Each week will focus on a particular theme and include exercises that will hone key employment skills e.g. interpersonal skills and problem solving, as well as their self-confidence.

    • Practical support: Co-create a personalised action plan outlining the steps needed to acquire the necessary skills for their desired career path/interests/options and help them identify resources.

    • Themes:

    1. Identifying obstacles –limiting beliefs, negative thought patterns and fears holding you back.

    2. Learning how to cope with rejection.

    3. Redefining the meaning of success and happiness.

    4. Aligning with core values & strengths. Identifying weaknesses and turning them into strengths.

    5. Understanding self-worth and patterns we get stuck in.

    6. Developing key employment skills: Leadership, Teamwork, Communication/Interpersonal, Adaptability & Creativity – exercises and practices to develop these each week.

    7. Vison & Storytelling – visualisation meditations, upselling yourself & developing self-confidence.

    8. HR support on CVs and cover letter (TBC)

    • Exercises will be in the form of role plays, listening & feedback circles, journaling, presenting etc.

    • There will be mindfulness practices included

    • Home-work tasks and practices will be set each week which they will be accountable to the coach for to help ensure progress and momentum.
