Hammersmith BID's Zero-Emissions Arts Market

London’s first zero-emissions market returns to Hammersmith this August for a special summer pop-up at Livat Hammersmith on King Street. The market will see seven local artists and makers selling their wares at Livat’s Sook Space, a flexible, pop-up retail unit in the King Street shopping centre.

Trading at the August market will be Milton Grubert Art; Handmade by Leda; Selano Jewellery by Suzette Richards-Selano; Juliette Smeed Jewellery; art by Natalia Bobrova; natural, handcrafted skincare from Skiniri; and local family duo Ty and Tia Hannaford selling nature photography and Batik fashion.

With the aim of supporting and creating new opportunities for small and medium-sized local enterprises and revitalise spaces around the town centre, Hammersmith BID’s Zero-Emissions Arts Market series was first piloted in November 2021 in partnership with Hammersmith and Fulham Council. Markets underneath the Flyover, at Livat and on Lyric Square followed, with monthly Sunday markets continuing throughout the spring and early summer.

All goods are brought to the market by Parcels Not Pollution, Hammersmith BID’s zero-emissions delivery service, and traders and shoppers are also encouraged to travel to the market using sustainable methods.

Open Wednesday to Sunday from 24 August to Sunday 4 September, the pop-up market is another chance for Hammersmith shoppers to pick up unique, locally made items and support Hammersmith’s community of makers.

Assistant BID Director Livia Caruso said: “We’re so pleased to be bringing back our Zero-Emissions Arts Market to Livat, a project which has proved popular with Hammersmith shoppers over the last year. Our Zero-Emissions markets bring together several project strands we are passionate about here at Hammersmith BID, including sustainability and low emissions, supporting small and local businesses, and utilising a mix of spaces all around our town centre. We’re very grateful to Sook and Livat for the opportunity to use this cutting-edge retail space in the heart of Hammersmith.”
